Swing the club... the body will respond to the swinging motion... well said, sir!

I can tell this is a genius tip but I'm not quite sure why. All I know is when I play my best I feel like I'm swinging the grooves rather than the clubface or even the clubhead. I can see each groove in my mind. I think this simple tip will help people do that.

Calhoun nice video. I’m hard headed and wish I lived near you so you could knock moes swing in my head. I had the day off Monday and hit the ball so good.

The fact that you can just feel and do the moe norman like that is insane to my brain.

Another great video Charles. In my opinion your observations on the hips, and the role the hips play in the swing, are absolutely bang on.

Charles , Bryson and Moe and maybe YOU! set up at address with the hands high and take it away and return it back to where it was address! Others set hands low at address and return them higher! Am I correct in saying you feel the swing up while others feel it around? Why not just back and THRU? I worked for JIMMY BALLARD and he said "GO square an axe upon a tree" . I enjoy your content! Thanks

Shoutout to #ShadeTreePro! How about overdubbing a practice session by adding some afterthought comments? It’ll be interesting hear how cognitive dissonance (truth to light) prevents us from becoming better at managing ourselves around the golf course. It’s like seeing is believing but believing does not immediately turn into results - It’s nice that you don’t edit out the less than perfect strikes - It’s not the many but the one that matters most. Keep em in the fairway!

Dont know your philosophy, and it doesn’t matter, in a good sense. Because, you are on it.... the swing should be taught top down, that will get more people on plane, in to out, far faster than bottom to top. That lower body first, has so many over the top, spinning out, to much hip rotation, too wide of stances, and on and on. People get to the top, and most look great, then they, spinning hips, throwing out the lead knee, trying the sam sneed/tiger squat, yet they so active lower body, their upper body trails, and it causes all kinds of issues. Best philosophy is, get to the top, let the lead arm drop, or even pull it down, then let your body naturally react to the action and complete the strike. Long story short,... top to bottom is the best method.

This looks like great teaching that golfers would love to learn.

I do not recall (in my many years of reading, watching or listening about golf) anyone making this distinction - and it would appear to make a very valid point. Many of us have tried a simple hip bump to start the downswing without getting the results we expected and Charles may well have explained why we have been disappointed. I will be experimenting with this move asap :)

You are spot on Charles. A left lateral move starts the downswing!

Man where you been. Just discovered you today. I changed my swing 3 years ago to a single plane swing. Learned from the Graves Academy. Very pricey but very good. Now the only problem I have with them is they want you to come as close to Moe Norman as possible. I see you teach a very similar swing but much more sensible and easier to achieve. In other words you keep it simple.

Brilliant. wow.. you simplify things like none other. This is exactly what golf needs. My first round of golf was 10 months ago. I watch you and Mrshortgame. Every time i see a video of yours, i can usually immediately implement it into my game. I usually watch your videos, then go right into my backyard and practice. I wish you lived in Arizona so I could pay you for personal lessons. Keep up the amazing advice.

Charles I've watched your vids for a while now and I gotta say; The sound and the solid strike is always unreal. Are you dominant with your right hand, down and through like a throw? You've gotta be going full speed with something.
